PROJECT: Inventing my city

Have you ever thought about designing your perfect and ideal city?
Don't think about that anymore! This is your project!

The topic of the unit is directions, places in town and landmarks. Taking into account this topic, you are going to start thinking about what your ideal city would look like.
Okay, stop thinking.... DO IT!

In groups of 7-8 students, you will work on your ideal city. This city will be presented by you, all the members of the group, in front of the rest of the class on Wednesday 10th April.
For this presentation you will design a digital presentation that will be projected, for a better display. You are totally free to design it like you want. You can use some digital tools, such PowerPoint, Prezi, etc or you can just take some pictures and project the pictures while you are explaining it.

And.. that's not all! You will create an Instagram account to promote your city and encourage people to visit your city. During your presentation, you will tell the rest of your partners the name of the Instagram account and we all will have a look at it.

Summing up, your city should include:

Name of your city

Map (not necessarily of the whole city, just a part you want to show)

1 cultural aspect of your city (food, souvenir, famous people, etc.)

Instagram account with, at least, 2 posts with one conditional sentence in each.

Are you ready?

Vocabulary: Places in town

Dear students,
here you can find all the vocabulary you may want to use for your project. Remember, the more vocabulary you use, the higher mark you will get. Don't forget to check the pronunciation of the words before doing the oral presentation. Fell free yo ask me in class or check it by using the dictionary links you can find on the right part of this blog, although Macmillan Dictionary is the one I most recommend. We have already used this dictionary in class, and you know how to get the right pronunciation and the use (more frequest or less frequent) of the words you are going to include in your project.
Below you can find the vocabulary we have been dealing with in class.
And remember, the more words you include in your project, the better! 👍

Grammar: Conditional sentences

Dear students,
are you sure you all remember everything about conditionals? Structures, uses, examples...?
Don't worry! You've come to the perfect post.
This time, it's not going to be me who will remind you of conditionals, but two friends of mine. They are Philip and Isabel. Philip is an English native speaker and Isabel is from Madrid. They speak in English and Spanish, so this video is going to be very helpful for you all.
Have a look at it and keep everything in mind. Remember you will use the conditionals to write the two posts on Instagram.
